Regression hypnosis first expanded my mind when I read Dr. Brian Weiss' Many Lives, Many Masters (1988) in my teens. I have since devoured any and every publication by Weiss that I've been able to get my hands on. Afterall, he was my gateway to this incredible world.
One of Weiss' recorded regression sessions ended up on YouTube. In it, Weiss guides a full auditorium as they sit with eyes closed and follow his voice into a calm state of focused concentration--a flow state--where many of them get just a taste of their own lost past.
These online "self-regressions" won't get you as deep as a guided 1:1 session or establish a higher self dialogue, but they can certainly give you a taste of what to expect from a sensory perspective and train you to strengthen your visualization practice.
Enjoy! (Best if you find a way to watch without ads.)

I can write many more posts about how much I admire Dr. Weiss' coming out of the spiritual closet. This Columbia-trained psychotherapist, while treating a patient struggling with worsening, therapy-resistant phobias, decides to use a regression technique to get at the root of her fears. She regresses to an experience not of her present life and also taps deep knowledge unknown to her conscious mind, giving Weiss the surprise of his life and career. Cheers to him for continuing to explore what they unlocked despite it not fitting neatly into his personal belief system.
Perhaps they both got more than they bargained for, but her symptoms disappeared, and he went on to help millions open their minds, at a time when it meant risking his academic career and reputation.
